Wing and Tailplane Envelopes

Wing & Tailplane Envelopes: a service we provide to the professional and amateur restorer of vintage aeroplanes. The CAA and LAA require certain types to use "envelopes" for their wings and tailplane surfaces. We have machined Cubs, Tiger Moths, De-Havilland Rapide and Stampes to date. Ceconite, Irish Linen, Diatex - we take the wing plan, cut then machine the upper and lower surfaces together forming the tip radius and aileron cut outs as we go. These are stretched over the framework of the wing/tailplane then the remaining trailing edges can be stitched in place by the restorer.
